About me

I am a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Philosophy and a Teaching Fellow in AI Ethics at Harvard University on a Fulbright Scholarship. I am also a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo .

I work on normative and applied ethics and philosophy of AI, with a particular focus on population axiology and death, and these fields' implications for AI ethics. For about a decade I've been confident that developments in AI this century makes philosophical questions urgent. That belief has motivated much of my work, although sometimes indirectly.  

In 2022, I co-founded Langsikt,  a think tank focused on AI policy, biosecurity and global health, where I've worked full-time for several years and continue to work as a part-time advisor on AI policy.

I have a BPhil in Philosophy from Wadham College, University of Oxford as a Norway Scholar. My thesis was on 'Non-Archimedean' views of intrapersonal aggregation and personal identity.
